Official says Iran’s Bushehr plant built faster than schedule

TEHRAN, Aug 13 (PRIME) -- The second and third units of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran are built ahead of schedule, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Akbar Salehi said, as cited on the website of the Iranian government on Tuesday.

“Construction of the second and third units in Bushehr is advancing fast, we are advancing even faster than the schedule – we must not forget that financing of this project is important – but we are in general advancing faster than the forecasted schedule,” Salehi said.

The first unit of Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant, constructed by Russian specialists, was launched in 2011. Construction of the second unit is to be finished in 2024 and of the third in 2026.
